Tonight's song is 'Season of the Witch.'
Originally written and recorded by Donovan (perhaps most well known for 'Mellow Yellow,') it was one of his first forays into psychedelic music. It has been covered numerous times by artists all over the world and through many genres, both Hole and Lou Rawls have recorded versions of the song. One of my favorite versions though is the nearly ten minute long jam by Al Kooper, Mike Bloomfield, and Steve Stills.
