Game Day.



Soulful Sunday:
90's Football Rap Sunday: There aren't many (any?) old soul songs about football. So, I decided to pull a track from the long lost amazing NFL Jams CD on which pro football players tried to hold their own rapping alongside well known MC's (there is also a version with basketball players.) One of the better/best tracks to come off of these albums is 'Game Day' by Phife Dawg (from A Tribe Called Quest) and, appropriately enough, former New York Giants running back Rodney Hampton. What makes the track stand out though is the fact that the late great Jay Dee aka J Dilla produced it and gave them a good laid back track to rhyme over. Don't feel bad if you want to tune out Rodney Hampton's rapping. Here is 'Game Day':
